ProHealth Home Health and Hospice has been a steadfast presence in the Alabama community since 2015. As the largest locally owned and operated agency in the state, we take pride in our commitment to delivering high-quality care with a personal touch. Our story begins with the Lester family, who have dedicated themselves to healthcare since 1964. Today, David Lester leads ProHealth as CEO, carrying on the family legacy.
During the pandemic, our team sprang into action when the Governor's office called for help with COVID-19 patients. Without hesitation, the Lester family and our clinicians stepped up to serve on the front lines. Christy Whitehead, RN, played a pivotal role in establishing our Tuscaloosa office, securing necessary supplies, and providing hands-on care to patients. Her leadership and dedication earned her a promotion to Regional Administrator for ProHealth Home Health. Although we temporarily closed our Tuscaloosa Home Health Branch after the state of emergency, we secured a license and resumed serving patients in 2022.
Our Hospice team has been providing compassionate care to patients in the Tuscaloosa area since 2019. We believe that every individual deserves dignity and comfort during their final journey. As Ann Richardson so eloquently said, "We can't change the outcome, but we can affect the journey."
At ProHealth, we remain rooted in our Alabama community, dedicated to delivering exceptional care with heart and compassion. Our family-owned values shine through in every aspect of our work, and we're honored to serve our neighbors and friends.
ProHealth Home Health and Hospice, our family caring for yours.
WHY CHOOSE HOME HEALTH?
PRIVACY AND COMFORT
Most patients prefer the privacy and comfort of their own home when recovering from illnesses, injury and or surgery.
SHORTER RECOVERY TIME
Clinical studies have shown that many patients who are allowed to recover at home have better outcomes than those patients who recover in a hospital.
LESS STRESS FOR LOVED ONES
Home health provides education to patients and caregivers on how to properly monitor and manage illnesses and recovery. Patients receiving home health are also regularly assessed by trained medical professionals so that patients and caregivers are not left to guess as to the patient's medical condition or progress.
FEWER HOSPITALIZATIONS
Clinical studies have shown that patients who receive home health services require fewer readmissions to the hospital than patients who do not receive home health services.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
We are happy to talk with you to help you determine whether you or a loved one are eligible for home health.
